I have a photoblog online now, called what else but dumped.  I gradually will add to this I'm sure.

Revolutionary MVTs Class

I'm working on a paper on Chinese opera and continuing the idea of revolution and found this interesting site that has multimedia from the Cultural Revolution called Morning Sun. There's clips of revolutionary ballets and operas filmed during the Cultural Revolution.

It's interesting how when art is invested with the primary purpose of cramming political propaganda down the audience's throat it loses much of the questioning, questing, and probing nature that is found in works of great art. It's like writing a conclusion first and then never questioning if the conclusion is correct.

BLOG

I haven't blogged in quite awhile. To be honest I've lost a lot of interest in it and have realized that it really wouldn't be a good area for my dissertation.  Instead I want to focus on multimedia, video, music, and graphics online in particular.  I know that shortly I'll be completely redesigning my webspace.  I want to explode it.  I'm also shopping for server space for posting multimedia projects.  I need some elbow room.

Also, I'm kind of considering trying to create a documentary about TA's & the department.  It could be interesting to develop and no doubt I'd learn much from trying to do it.
